Viewing All Unique Values for a Variable

This tool displays all unique values for one or more variables. It presents a dialog like the following.

The dialog that shows the number of unique values for one or more variables.

One or more variables can be selected from the list at the left. Shift-click and Control-click can be used to select multiple variables. The table to the right of the dialog will then display unique values for the selected variable(s). The “Selected data only” checkbox at the top determines whether counts are for all the rows in the data table or for only the highlighted rows.

By default, with the “Individually” checkbox unchecked, the right-hand table contains a single row for each unique value or combination of values for the selected variable(s). The last column of the table (“Count”) contains the number of rows in the data table with each unique value or set of values.

If the “Individually” checkbox is checked, then the output will have only two columns, one containing the variable name(s) and the other containing the count of unique values for each variable. Values of the variables are not shown in this form of output.

The table of unique values can be saved with the Ctrl-S hotkey.
